Privacy Policy
Plain answers about what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have.
Last updated: September 20, 2026
Your photos and your trust matter to us. This policy describes how Rollio handles your information across our app and website.
1. Who we are
Rollio is a shared photo app for events. A host creates an event, guests join by scanning a code, everyone takes photos on their own phone, and the photos are revealed together after the event.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Rollio app and website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@rollio.cam.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password. Guests can join an event without creating an account.
- Photos and videos. We collect the photos and videos you take or upload inside an event, along with basic details such as the time they were captured.
- Event information. We collect the event name, the reveal time you set, and the list of people who join an event.
- Device and usage information. We collect basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, and app activity such as screens viewed and actions taken. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app.
- Support messages. If you contact us, we keep the messages you send and our replies.
- Payment information. If you pay for an event, our payment provider processes your card details. We do not store your full card number.
We do not collect your precise location. We do not use your photos to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run the core features of the app, including creating events, letting guests join, storing photos, and revealing them at the time you choose.
- Send you service messages, such as a reminder when photos are ready to view.
- Process payments for paid events.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Keep the app safe, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- Improve the app by understanding which features are used and where people run into issues.
4. How photos and events are shared
Rollio is built for sharing within a group. The photos in an event are visible to the people who join that event. When the reveal time arrives, everyone in the event can view and save the shared photos.
You are responsible for who you invite to an event. Only invite people you are comfortable sharing photos with.
We do not make your events or photos public, and we do not share them with anyone outside your event unless you ask us to, or unless the law requires it.
5. Service providers we work with
We use a small number of trusted companies to help us run Rollio. They may process your information only to provide their service to us, and they are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. These include:
- Cloud hosting and storage providers that store event data and photos.
- A payment provider that processes payments for paid events.
- A messaging provider that delivers push notifications and emails.
- Analytics and crash reporting tools that help us understand app performance and fix errors.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
Photos and event data stay available to event participants so they can view and save them after the reveal. If you delete a photo, an event, or your account, we remove the associated data from our active systems within 30 days, except where we need to keep limited records to meet a legal or accounting requirement.
Backups are kept for a short period and are then overwritten on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your account information in the app settings.
- Delete individual photos or an entire event that you control.
- Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your personal information.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to certain processing. To make any of these requests, email us at privacy@rollio.cam. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. How to delete your account and data
You can delete your account at any time. In the app, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. You can also email privacy@rollio.cam from the address linked to your account and ask us to delete it.
When you delete your account, we remove your profile and the events and photos you own from our active systems within 30 days. Photos you added to an event created by someone else may remain in that event so the group history stays intact. If you want those removed, delete them before you delete your account, or contact us for help.
9. Children
Rollio is not intended for children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at privacy@rollio.cam and we will delete it.
10. How we protect your information
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and limits on who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to fix problems quickly if they arise.
11. International data transfers
We may store and process your information in countries other than the one you live in. When we do, we take steps to make sure your information keeps a level of protection consistent with this policy and applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
13. Contact us
